First off, here's the details.

A Glock FRT (or Glock Forced Reset Trigger) is an aftermarket trigger upgrade designed for Glock pistols that dramatically speeds up the trigger reset process, allowing for a much higher rate of fire while still technically operating as a semi-automatic firearm (one shot per trigger pull).
1. Firstly, lets talk Durability

Key Factors Affecting Durability

The forced reset relies on the slide/bolt carrier pushing or interacting with trigger components much more forcefully and frequently than in a standard semi-auto setup. This accelerates wear on:

  • Trigger bar
  • Connector
  • Housing/frame interfaces
  • Disconnector or reset springs/cams
  • Sometimes the striker or related parts

Polymer frames (especially Gen 3/4) can show accelerated battering or peening where metal parts slam against plastic repeatedly.

2. Secondly, the history to date
  • Early/beta designs (e.g., some 3D-printed or initial open-beta kits from smaller makers): Often limited to a few hundred rounds before issues like inconsistent resets, breakage, or failure to function properly. Some users report parts wearing out or failing around 500–700 rounds due to tolerances tightening up or material fatigue.
  • Commercial/more established versions (e.g., from companies like Tyrant CNC, FPS Kenny, Redacted Industries, or similar aftermarket FRT kits): Generally better. Some users report 600–1,000+ rounds with no major failures when properly tuned and using quality magazines/ammo. A few tests show reliable function past several hundred rapid-fire rounds, but long-term data (e.g., 5,000–10,000 rounds) is still emerging since these became widely available post-2025.

Description

Introducing the Pembleton and Sons Glock FRT

Product Overview

This is a trigger replacement system that allows an active reset of the trigger. Many know this action as “super safe.” The kit comes with a printed nylon trigger shoe and a laser-cut plate. As a result, it is incredibly strong.

It fits Glock Gen 1–4. However, it will not work on Gen 5 Glocks. You will also need a 20 lb recoil spring and a 3.5 lb trigger kit, including the disconnector.

Installation

We recommend installation by a qualified gunsmith. Assembly is simple. First, remove the trigger bar. Then punch out the primary trigger pin and swap the old trigger shoe for the new one. Next, remove your slide release, because the system will not function correctly with it. Finally, drop the reset on top of the trigger. The trigger pin that secures the trigger to the frame holds it in place.

Product Features
  • Active Reset — Rapid trigger reset while staying semi-automatic.
  • Strong Build — Printed nylon trigger shoe plus a laser-cut plate.
  • Gen 1–4 Fitment — Not compatible with Gen 5.
  • Requirements — 20 lb recoil spring and a 3.5 lb trigger kit (including disconnector).
  • Gunsmith Recommended — Professional installation recommended.
Warnings
  • By purchasing or using this product, you accept responsibility for the final installation. This includes any damage or wear to your firearm.
  • Improper installation or use of the FRT may cause an unintentional discharge. That can lead to injury or even death.
  • We recommend installation by a professional gunsmith.
  • After proper installation, all users should seek qualified training on this product.
